New Year greetings to all the members of the IATP!
It is with great pleasure that I address you all as the President of the Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology. I would like to congratulate Dr. Srujana Mohanty and her team at the IATP Odisha Chapter, for successfully conducting their inaugural Workshop on “Diagnostic Techniques for Detection of Human Intestinal and Genital Protozoal Infections: An Optimal Approach,” held at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on 8th-9th September 2023.
I extend my best wishes to Dr. Anuradha De, the President of the IATP Maharashtra Chapter, as they gear up their preparations for hosting the inaugural MAHATROPACON 2024, from 13th-14th January 2024, based on the theme “Clinical Parasitology: Thinking beyond microscopy” with pre-conference workshops on 12th January 2024. I urge every one of you to attend the conference to make it a grand scientific feast.
Furthermore, the IATP continues to hold monthly Panel Discussions on the 1st Thursday of every month in addition to the Webinars on the 3rd Thursday of every month, being conducted online. These discussions feature experts in the field of tropical parasitology, who share their insights and experiences on various topics related to the field. This initiative is aimed at promoting knowledge
sharing and networking among our members.
I would like to take this opportunity to encourage all our members to participate in these events and initiatives actively. Your participation is vital in shaping the future of the Academy and advancing
the field of tropical parasitology.
In closing, I would like to urge all our State Chapters to establish their organizational hierarchy and keep setting up academic activities in their states about the field of medical parasitology. Together, we can continue to make significant strides towards improving the health and well-being of individuals affected by parasitic infections. Wishing you all the best.
