The Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology (IATP) since its inception has remained committed to academic excellence and nurturing of research in parasitic diseases. To broaden the perspectives, the IATP, every year offers various awards and recognitions to its members as well as other Parasitologists of eminence in India and abroad for their contributions in the field of Parasitology. - Springer-Parija South East Asia Award of the IATP:
This is a prestigious international award by the Springer in association with the Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology (IATP) to be given every year. This award will be given for Excellence in research in parasitic diseases related to “One Health” to be awarded to the scientists from WHO South East Asian Member Countries (India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Timor-Leste). It will be awarded to a mid-level scientist/faculty of 45-55 years age from any of these countries based on his/her publications in indexed journals. One person can get the award only once and the value of the award is in the form of Springer book Voucher of 1500 Euros. The awardee will be given a certificate and a gold medal at the Annual Congress of the Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology 2024. Recipient will deliver an Oration during the Annual Congress.
- Dr S.C. Parija Oration Award of the IATP:
This is a prestigious international award of the Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology (IATP) given every year to eminent parasitologist of age 55 years and above from India and abroad in recognition of their contributions to the field of parasitology. The person must be of repute in the field of parasitology and should have contributed immensely to the subject over a considerable period as evidenced by papers published in peer reviewed journals, monographs/textbooks written on parasitological topics etc. In addition, individuals from the industry segment who have contributed to the development of parasitology would also be considered for the award. The awardee will be given a certificate and a gold medal at the Annual Congress of the Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology. Recipient will deliver an Oration during the Annual Congress. Full transcript of the Oration will be published in the forthcoming issue of ‘Tropical Parasitology’, the official journal of IATP.
- Fellow of the IATP:
This is an important Fellowship given every year to an eminent parasitologist of age 50 years and above from India and abroad in recognition of their contributions to the field of parasitology. The person must be of repute in the field of parasitology and should have contributed immensely to the subject. In addition, individuals from the industry segment who have contributed to the development of parasitology would also be considered for the award The awardee will be given a certificate and a gold medal at the Annual Congress of the Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology.

- Springer Award for the Best Oral Paper Presentation of the IATP:
TROPACON is the national conference of IATP held every year during September-October at various locations in India. Till now, 18 such Conferences have been successfully held. In the Springer-IATP award, a maximum of four best presentations will be selected by the judges and will be awarded as follows every year:
a. Best Oral Paper Presentation by the Faculty or Scientist: Book voucher of 250 Euros to buy any book published by Springer International.
b. Best Paper by Post graduate students (MD, MSc, PhD): Book voucher of 250 Euros to buy any book published by Springer International.
The members of the Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology only are eligible for this Award.
- Springer Award for Best Publication in Tropical Parasitology:
The IATP has its own official journal Tropical Parasitology which is a biannual publication which is Scopus and PubMed indexed. For selecting the best papers. the previous year’s publications will be judged by a panel of experts (with no conflict of interest) and award for best original publication will be given as Book voucher of 500 Euros.
No nomination/application is required for best oral paper and best published paper.
