Scientific publications are considered one of the valid performance indicators for health professionals. Several good research works are shelved and do not get published. There is a burgeoning need for skills and knowledge in scientific writing, as many health professionals hesitate to explore this arena largely attributed to inadequate training and exposure.

Course Credits – 3 credits as per UGC Guidelines

Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, the participant would be able to

  • Appreciate various components of all scientific communications [original research, review, case report/ series, short communications/letter/correspondence/dispatch, and book reviews] with the appropriateness of content in each component.
  • Identify various issues on ethics, copyright, and plagiarism and ways to mitigate them.
  • Write a scientific communication completely under the guidance offered by the resource person and identify an appropriate journal for publication.
  • Sensitize the process of online submission and also to respond to reviewer’s comments.
  • Links to Supporting Research Documents [to all participants].

Time to apply

As the course is offered through MOOC, registration for the course can be done all along the year. The required credits prescribed for the completion of the course have to be earned by the candidates. If the candidate fails to satisfy the required credits within six months from the date of enrolment, he/she has to re-register.

Duration of the course.

  • Participants will receive an enrolment number after registration to the course.
  • Course can be completed within a period of six months from the date of enrolment of the individual participant.
  • if not completed, the participant needs to re-register for the next course and fulfil the eligibility criteria to receive the completion certificate.
Registration fees: 5900 INR/150$

We offer a 50% waiver for Ph.D. students (i.e., 2950 INR), who have to attach a bonafide certificate from their guide as a pdf document in the registration link, to avail of the waiver.
